I was adopted by Philip and Elaine in April 1983 and welcomed to “work” for Proffitts of Bolton and live with them and their children in beautiful Little Holcome House for three months. I had the time of my life. So many great memories, I could write a book. Philip educated me about British culture, with a special focus on pubs, beer and haute cuisine. I was introduced to many of his friends, with who we had important meetings on a daily basis. We kept in touch thereafter and met in Britain, the Netherlands and different places in Europe. The last time was in Brussels, November 2023, with Elaine, Helen and family. We had a good time, a few beers and a memorable dinner in his favorite restaurant.
