Philip was a very special cousin who has been part of my life from my earliest memories. Although distance and busy lives meant that we didn’t see each other very often, I always knew that he was there for me, in his warm, loving and generous way. When I was a child I 
I looked forward to his visits to stay with us on Exmoor, sometimes with friends from college, which was hugely exciting for my sister and me. He had time for us then, even though we were probably very annoying kids. I loved his sense of humour, his appreciation of making mischief and his deep love of his family and friends, which was evident in everything he did. The joyful memories bring a smile to my face, especially when eating curry and drinking beer.
